Rest Is Not a Reward
You do not have to earn your rest. It was given to you before you did a single thing.

Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
Somewhere along the way, many of us learned to treat rest as a reward — something we earn only after the list is finished and everyone else is cared for.
But the list is never finished. And so the rest never comes.
Consider this: the very first full day of human life was a day of rest. Before there was work to complete, there was Sabbath to receive. You were invited into rest before you had done anything at all to deserve it.
Your worth was never tied to your output. It still isn’t.
So this week, before the tasks and the texts and the tending of everyone else — pause. Breathe. Let yourself be loved before you are useful. Rest is not the reward for a life well spent. It is the ground you are meant to stand on.
