Who Tends the Shepherd?
You hold space for everyone else. This is a gentle reminder that your soul needs tending too.
Kathryne Winter ·
He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart.
You are the one people come to. When the crisis breaks, when the marriage falters, when the doubt creeps in — you are the steady presence in the room.
But who is steady for you?
Ministry has a way of quietly convincing us that our own weariness can wait. That we will tend to our interior life later — after this season, this project, this stretch of holding everyone together.
Later rarely comes on its own.
The same God who calls you to shepherd others gathers you close to His heart. You are not only a caregiver in His kingdom. You are also a lamb He carries.
If it has been a long time since anyone asked how your soul is doing, let this be the question: not what are you producing, but how are you, really? You are allowed to need care. You are allowed to receive it.
